I’ve been with Autism Academy since July 2015. Helping individuals with disabilities is a passion I’ve had my entire life. As a child, I would give up my recess time to work in the special education classrooms. As a teenager, I spent my summers taking a child with severe disabilities swimming, to the movies, and to places like Chuck E. Cheese. Prior to coming to AAED, I worked with individuals with developmental disabilities professionally for 4 years. In January 2017, I became the art teacher for our Peoria campus. Accepting this position was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I love helping our students learn how to get lost in the creative process and express themselves through art.
